Just three days following WrestleFest, the official figures are in. WrestleFest was enjoyed by nearly 8 million people worldwide. WrestleFest was not enjoyed by one man, Mr John Brooks from London who called in to complain about a purple-haired pillock on his TV. No prizes for guessing who that purple-haired pillock was. In a recap of the matches: *Benjamin Kings won the nine man battle royalé after a replay showed he was did not touch the floor during a three man elimination scuffle. *Blain Hamman started a new era of hardcore wrestling by laying claim to the re-activated Hardcore championship. Would he be the champ without inteference from Chris Richards? We'll never know. *One of A Kind's Bob McQuaid and The Great Barone took the NWW Tag Team championships from the residant pretty boys The Toasts of the Coasts with a little help from Maxx Anderson. The after-show celebration was said to be good, with Maxx passing out on at least three ocassions. *Jin Ryusaki retained the LionHeart championship against Kaos and retired the title as the undefeated champion with the longest NWW title reign, lasting 277 days. Congratulations to him for winning that tough match. *In a battle of David versus Goliath, Assassin defeated Sayge on Death Row in a brutal fight. Sayge showed a lot of heart, but was ultimately defeated after a chokeslam from the top of the cage and a modified Alabama Slam. Sayge is expected to make one last appearance at the arena to receive his termination papers from Phoenix. *A fight of former friends led Thorn Darrkken to battle Victor Gang for the British Championship. After some high spots, Victor ultimately scored the victory and retained. Followed the match, Victor got on the microphone and spoke about how he's changed lately and needs to find himself. With that, he vacated the title and left the company. *In the second-to-main event match, Phoenix battled Jason in a two out of three falls match. Phoenix scored the first fall with a Phoenix Driver, and looked to be well on his way to two straight falls as he continued to dominate Jason. However, the One Man Magic Show countered an attempted shin breaker with a sunset flip and pinned Phoenix for the three. Then, in the final fall, Jason began to dominate Phoenix and eventually trapped him in the Figure Four and scored the submission victory to win the match. *The main event met all expectations and more as Crowbar battled Red Faction, and seemingly Blake Slater, in a bid to defend his title. However, multiple interuptions from Blake ultimately cost Crowbar the title, crowning Red the new World Heavyweight Champion. What a show. In other news, there are various rumours as to what will happen with the British championship. Some suspect that the belt will be handed to the number one contender, Thorn Darrkken. Others say that there is a match between former British champions being set up, with the winner taking the gold. Another person claims that four men will be picked to compete in a Round Robin style tournament to establish a new champion. Only time will tell. There is also a rumour of a new show coming to P-TV. However, it will not be a wrestling based show. Many believe that Phoenix has signed himself up to a reality TV show that will be of a similar style to The Osbournes and the Anna Nicole Smith show. More on that soon. -- Until next time.
